Valt Returns to Dubai for TOKEN2049 Pitch Competition Win
After representing Sentinel at Cosmoverse 2024, Zac Wickstrom has returned to Dubai to score a major win for the Valt app.

Two big news items have dropped about Valt, a freemium hybrid dVPN client/personal data manager launched last year.
- Valt and its CEO Zac Wickstrom have won a pitch competition hosted by Gain Ventures (which is affiliated with Duke University) and Draper University at TOKEN2049's Dubai event.
- They've also quietly launched a Windows beta version of their application, making them the second team to release a Sentinel-powered dedicated dVPN client for the world's most popular operating system.

Check out our profile of Valt and their app published in March for more details.

Web3 & AI Pitch Competiton
The competition was held on 30 April and was hosted by Sergey Khusnetdinov and Svetlana Khusnetdinova of Gain. Judges included Marat Mukhamedyarov (Good News Ventures), Tiffany Chang (Gate Ventures), and Abhinav Pathak (Woodstock Fund).
U.S.-based Valt Data's win in this competition will place the company on a fast track to the final round of the selection process for Draper University and Stellar's Web3 Founder Residency in Silicon Valley.
This includes a $20k USD grant, lodging and networking opportunities at Draper's campus in San Mateo, California; and a "demo day" with access to new investors and venture capital.
"This opportunity brings us one step closer to our mission: giving people real control over their data," Valt commented in a post on X celebrating the win.

Wickstrom and his company's app (then shipping under its old moniker of "Breadcrumbs") were finalists in a similar competition held at Cosmoverse 2024, which also took place in Dubai.
Windows Launch
As mentioned at the start of the article, a beta version of Valt is now available for Windows desktop systems. It joins Android, iOS, and MacOS as the client's supported platforms. A companion extension for Chromium-based web browsers is also available.
Valt operates on a freemium model—limited access to the dVPN is gratis, but full access to all of the app's features (including personal data management) will require a subscription purchase.
X Space

Wickstrom joined Sentinel/NORSE Labs CEO Aleksandr Litreev on an X Space last Friday (9 May) to discuss the success at Token2049, among other topics.
