Sentinel Launches New Website

The new website solidifies Sentinel's peer-to-peer bandwidth marketplace narrative while delivering a raft of new features and enhancements to visitors.

Sentinel Launches New Website

After over a year of work, Sentinel's new website is now officially live.

This is far more than a simple face-lift or fresh billboard for Sentinel's mission—it delivers a polished, cohesive central access point for downloads, information, and resources the likes of which the community has never had previously in the project's eight years of development.

What will be most obvious upon first visit is the new user interface, which features updated branding, a lighter color scheme, transparent elements, new typefaces, and video backdrops. To create a concise and beginner-friendly onboarding process for visitors, all processes and user flows have been categorized in three ways: UseMonetize, and Build

The superficial and organizational improvements are complemented by a refresh to messaging: Sentinel is now portrayed as a peer-to-peer bandwidth DePIN rather than just a dVPN architecture—thus bringing the project's frontend fully into alignment with the L1 narrative which began with the ticker change earlier this year.

New Features - Overview

Popular elements from the previous website, which launched in February 2023, have been retained in updated form; but the vast majority of what we see is brand new. We've put together a rough accounting of all the fresh features ushered in by the overhaul:

  • A polished new homepage which visually aligns with the latest industry web design standards while remaining faithful to Sentinel's well-established aesthetic fundamentals.
  • Different aspects of the project such as dVPN downloads, the Sentinel Scout dashboard (beta), bandwidth sharing, and developer resources have been consolidated into a single convenient dashboard.
  • Direct download links for every dVPN in the ecosystem, sorted by operating system. hardware, and functionality on a per-nation basis.
  • Banners and scrolling tickers displaying Sentinel's partnerships and affiliated third-party development teams.
  • An introductory portal for builders, testimonials from established dVPN developers, and links to development kits.
  • The first public documentation for Sentinel Scout, which is edging closer to its full public launch by the day.
  • New community and contributor essentials, such as a team contact form, a directory of the ecosystem's dApps, and revised social links.

Even more changes and enhancements will be rolled out as time passes and feedback is received. That slate of work already includes a chain explorer and information about the P2P Coin; as well as overhauls of resources like the dVPN Network Statistics and Node Network dashboards.

One additional detail which will be a joy to Android users, especially those who prefer not to use or cannot access the Google Play Store, is that the new website will eventually offer direct in-browser APK downloads for all dVPN apps with Android versions.

What is Sentinel?

Sentinel is a peer-to-peer global bandwidth marketplace which powers both privacy-focused consumer products and development utilities. The most prominent of these usecases at present are decentralised VPN (dVPN) applications and data acquisition for the training of AI models.
