Bluefrens NFT Collection Announces Mint Date

Following months of hype and buildup, the Bluefrens NFT collection has just revealed 25–29 July as the date range for its multi-phase mint on Stargaze.

The collection, a 1,420-piece celebration of the the entire Sentinel Ecosystem, is the brainchild of Bitveil, a collective of professional Web3 consultants who both validate the blockchain and make technical contributions to Meile dVPN, They are also responsible for creating a Node Monitor Bot which has become a crucial tool for the dVPN Node host community on Telegram.

The amount of detail and community knowledge demonstrated by the collection is impeccable; but Bluefrens strives to go the extra mile in bringing value to Sentinel. Through the collection, Bitveil has become a key advocate for the project on social platforms, organizes fun events for the community, and have put plenty of work has into making sure their collection has practical utility and benefits to holders.

As Mullet, the collection's mastermind, puts it: "The goal is to make sure every Bluefren comes with something you can actually use, not just flex."

The star of the collection is Mitch, a blue-pigmented variant of Pepe which has been a staple of Sentinel community memes since the project started in the late 2010s. Bluefrens offers 1,420 pixel art NFTs centered on Sentinel's unofficial mascot, each uniquely generated from over 60 hand-drawn traits tied to the ecosystem and its vibrant culture.

This sample platter of the collection features nods to a plethora of ecosystem partners and contributors: dVPNs like Sentinel Shield, Valt, and Meile; the Sentinel Scout AI Data Layer, and even our P2P Newswire service.

NFTs with Utility

As we touched upon in the introduction, these NFTs are much more than mere swag for your wallet. Bluefrens has partnered with the Sentinel Growth DAO to bring utility to the medium and align their work directly with Sentinel's products.

Holders can already look forward to perks such as discounts for dVPN subscriptions and free bandwidth—and even more is on the way. Considering the unparalleled level of real-world consumer adoption Sentinel-powered apps have received, it wouldn't be a stretch to call this the most useful NFT collection ever made.

Mint Information

The first phase of the mint will take place on Stargaze on July 25th. Though now closed to new members, there were multiple avenues one could have taken to join the "FrensList" and reserve a Bluefren:

• Staking: Delegating at least 100,000 P2P, 500 JKL, or 5,000 BTSG to Bitveil on the Sentinel, Jackal, or Bitsong blockchains.
• Participation: Getting involved with the Bluefrens Discord community to rank up your account.
• Giveaways: NFTs were given away by Bluefrens as prizes for their community events and giveaways.

Once begun, the mint will be rolled out in four stages over four days:

1. 400 pieces (one per wallet) for members of the FrensList.
2. Another one-day giveaway reserved for members of select partner NFT collections (Mad Scientists, Celestine Sloths, Bad Kids, On-chain Omies and Expedition Pics). 250 spots will be available.
3. The gate widens to include members of Starry, YieldBotz, Pixl Wizards, Expedition Pics, Frutopia, Shit on Cosmos, Architects and Spice Agents. Participants will be able to mint one of 350 Bluefrens (up to three per wallet) for 1 ATOM.
4. In this final twenty-four hour stage, whatever remains will be made available for public sale at a 2 ATOM price tag, with a limit of five per wallet.

In addition, ten fully custom pieces have been reserved for Sentinel "community OGs" and other special contributors.
